Born in 1980 in Munich, Germany, my family kidnapped me to Pretoria, South Africa, in 1995.
After extensive travels through North- and South-America and a year in London, I started my education of photography at the Royal Academy of Arts in Ghent, Belgium, in 2003. I was finally old enough to know what I wanted.
Four years later I graduated with my film “Of Silesian Streets And German Potatoes” and won the prize for Best Young Visual Artist in Belgium, sponsored by the Fotomuseum Antwerp.
In 2010 the film was awarded “Best International Biography Documentary” at the New York Independent Film Festival.
Since 2007 I am a freelance photographer and videographer, with a main focus on portrait and reportage.
After covering the refugee trail in Europe for a self-funded project, this topic remains close to my heart.
I am since then based in Athens and Berlin.
